The hotel is located in a prime spot, near the river and surrounded by beauty. The rooms in the main building are wonderful, but noise from the road can be a drawback. The service was warm and helpful, although guests are left alone at night. The dining experience was extra but may require a wait. The hotel's historic building and free parking add to its appeal.

Rooms

The rooms in the main building are fabulous, but being at the front overlooking the road can be extremely noisy.
Service

The service was very nice, but there were times when staff left guests alone at night, which might be unsettling.
Location
9.0
The location is excellent, close to many premier rivers and full of beauty. However, some areas need treatment for mold.
Dining
7.0
The dining experience was extra but might require booking and entail a wait. However, only starting at 8 am could be inconvenient for some.

I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The noise from the shopping precinct and bus stop was quite bothersome, but the four-poster bed was incredibly comfortable. The room layout, including being for disabled guests, was a bit strange with multiple separate rooms.

Rooms

The room had a mix of positives and negatives. The four-poster bed was very comfortable, but the noise from the shopping precinct and bus stop was quite disruptive. The room being designed for disabled guests was a unique feature, but the layout with three separate rooms felt slightly inconvenient.

The service was a highlight of my stay. The morning host was exceptionally friendly, and the staff overall were helpful, friendly, and pleasant throughout. Their welcoming attitude made my visit more enjoyable.
Location

The location of the hotel was very good for exploring the High Street, river walks, and nearby cafe/restaurants. Having onsite parking was convenient, and the proximity to various attractions was a plus.
Dining

The dining experience was satisfactory with traditional dishes. However, there could have been a bit more variety in the menu. The included breakfast was good overall, but I wished for more options.

The hotel has wonderful rooms and is in my opinion very good value for money. However, the carpet was heavily stained and had not been hoovered for months. The service was great, with friendly and helpful staff, although there was a radio playing from 7.00 am. The location is excellent, convenient for exploring the town and river on foot. The dining experience was average but generous in portion size. As for facilities, they were sufficient for my needs.

The rooms were wonderful and in my opinion very good value for money. However, the carpet was heavily stained and had not been hoovered for months. We also faced issues like not having any heating in the bathroom.
Service
8.0
The staff were very friendly and helpful, considering the youthfulness of the staff, the hotel appeared to be very well-run. However, there were instances where things were left on like a radio playing from 7.00 am.
Location
9.0
The location was excellent, convenient for exploring the town and river on foot with plenty of quaint pubs and some fun nightlife. Just off the M5, a great stop off on a journey.
Dining
6.0
The dining experience was average although there was enough of it. The evening meal was nice and generous in portion size. However, the breakfast started very late at 8 am, making it difficult for business individuals with early meetings.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities were sufficient for my needs, though the hotel was closing for a refurbishment kitchen.
