Reviews and Ratings
The hotel is located in a prime spot, near the river and surrounded by beauty. The rooms in the main building are wonderful, but noise from the road can be a drawback. The service was warm and helpful, although guests are left alone at night. The dining experience was extra but may require a wait. The hotel's historic building and free parking add to its appeal.
I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The noise from the shopping precinct and bus stop was quite bothersome, but the four-poster bed was incredibly comfortable. The room layout, including being for disabled guests, was a bit strange with multiple separate rooms.
The hotel has wonderful rooms and is in my opinion very good value for money. However, the carpet was heavily stained and had not been hoovered for months. The service was great, with friendly and helpful staff, although there was a radio playing from 7.00 am. The location is excellent, convenient for exploring the town and river on foot. The dining experience was average but generous in portion size. As for facilities, they were sufficient for my needs.
